Blutech FAQs

Q. How does Blue Light negatively impact us?

Blue light has the potential to negatively impact us in three ways.

  1. Create visual discomfort known as blur and glare.
  2. Linked to potential macula cellular damage that may lead to vision problems over time.
  3. Negatively impact our sleep wake cycle (circadian rhythm) that may lead to significant health and well-being issues.

Q. Why are children, teenagers and young adults more at risk of harm from Blue Light?

  1. Our eyes do not develop full protection to UV and Blue light until we reach adulthood. As a result, a child’s eyes are more susceptible to the potentially damaging effects of blue light.
  2. Children hold digital devices closer to their eyes compounding the negative impacts.
  3. As a precautionary measure and to forestall the results of poor sleep we recommend BluTech lenses be worn by all children when using digital devices, and for the last three hours before bedtime regardless of whether they require a prescription or not.
  4. BluTech Lenses are the only blue light solution clinically proven to improve melatonin production by 96%.

Q. How do digital devices harm our eyes?

  1. Many adults spend 7+ hours a day using digital devices. The discomfort (eye strain, migraines, tension) caused by this intense exposure to blue light can be improved by wearing BluTech Lenses when using these devices.
  2. In a study of over 2000 wearers – 98% noticed significant sleep improvement; 99% said their eyes were more relaxed; 65% experienced a reduction in headaches and migraines and 94% chose to wear their BluTech lenses as their everyday pair of glasses.
  3. BluTech Lenses are the only blue light solution clinically proven to improve melatonin production by 96%.

Q. Am I at risk if I am post cataract or post Lasik?

  1. When your cataract was removed your natural protection against potential macula cellular damage was also removed. BluTech blocks more of the blue light than any other solution.
  2. Driving at night BluTech Lenses significantly remove the flares and halos around headlights and street lighting improving your comfort and safety.
  3. If you have difficulty sleeping, BluTech Lenses are the only blue light solution clinically proven to improve melatonin production by 96%.

Q. Can BluTech lenses help protect from sunlight?

The Sun is the highest emitter of blue light. BluTech Lenses provide the most complete blockage across the blue light spectrum while improving contrast, reducing glare and still allowing us to read our digital devices and read through tempered glass screens like those used on ATMs and gas stations.
